Alert Preferences
Beacon can detect and categorize 5 different phases of at-risk behavior (Active Planning, Suicide Ideation, Self Harm, Help and Support, and Suicide Research). Beacon is defaulted to keep all phases toggled on, meaning your staff will see alerts for all phases on their Beacon dashboard. However, you can customize Beacon by disabling alerts for certain phases, which means no alert card on the dashboard or notification by email or text will be generated for that phase.
Note: This feature is unavailable on Beacon Starter, as Beacon Starter only generates Active Planning alerts.
To modify alert preferences
- Log into beacon.goguardian.com
- Click Settings from the navigation menu
- Navigate to Alert Preferences
- Toggle on/off the phases that your staff would like to have alert cards generated
- At the bottom of the page click Save Changes
Beacon will alert for student online activity related to the phases that are toggled on. Each alert phase preference can be customized as necessary:
- Alert Cards and Notifications: Alert cards for this phase will generate on your dashboard, and your escalation list will be notified via notifications by email or text.
- Go to “Staff Notifications” to ensure notifications for those phases are toggled on
- Alert Cards only: Alert cards for this phase will be generated on your dashboard only.
- Go to “Staff Notifications” to disable notifications for those phases
- Off: This setting indicates that no alerts will be generated for this phase.
- Under “Staff Notifications”, these phases will be grayed out and cannot be toggled on.
To modify staff notifications
