Common Problems with Scenes

One or more students are being blocked by an unknown Scene or another teacher's Scene. 

To remove another teacher's applied scene, ensure that the blocked students are connected to your active session, then change your classroom's scene to None. The block page will not be closed automatically, but your students can manually close the block page and will be free to browse the internet once again.

You can also click on Refresh Scene at the top of your Screens view if you see this button in a yellow banner warning you about students' Scene Statuses not matching. For more information about Scene Statuses, click here.

My Scene is not being applied to one or more students.

Students can exist in multiple overlapping classroom sessions, which means Teachers might unintentionally cause conflicts when applying scenes or starting sessions without a scene. Only one Scene can be applied to a student at a time. When a student is in multiple overlapping sessions, the most recently applied or default scene takes precedence. 

You should see a yellow banner warning that says that not all of your student's Scene Statuses match your active session's Scene Status. Click on the Refresh Scene button in this banner to re-apply your Scene to your active session.  For more information about Scene Statuses, click here.

I can't add a site to the exceptions list.

Unconventional domains, such as Kahoot.it, cannot be added to the exceptions list. For any URLs that can't be added, simply add a wildcard (*) immediately before and after the URL, then click add. 

Example: To allow kahoot.it to a Block Mode scene, you'll need to add *kahoot.it* to your exceptions list.

The exceptions list only accepts secure URLs that start with https://. If you are trying to add an unsecured http URL, you'll need to add the URL with wildcards immediately before and after the URL. 

Example: *http://unsecuredsite.com*

Unexpectedly blocked when signing into an approved site

Many educational sites use a Single Sign-On (SSO) service to sign in. These sign-on services temporarily redirect to a login page before the site can be accessed. So if you're using Block Mode, you'll need to add the sign-in page to your exceptions list.

Example: Kahoot.it offers a "Sign in with Google" option to sign-in. Using this option will temporarily redirect the user to accounts.google.com before sending them back to kahoot.it. In addition to *kahoot.it*, you'll need to add accounts.google.com to your exceptions list.
